Is Gun Use for Everyone?

What would happen if several black men went to a gun store to buy an AR-15 because they wanted to protect themselves from the police?  What would happen if several women went to the gun store to buy an AR-15 because they wanted to protect themselves from rapists?  What would happen if several LGBT folks went to the gun store to buy an AR-15 because they wanted to protect themselves from those who would attack them.  What would happen if parents across the country went to a gun store to buy AR-15s to protect their children from attack at school?  What if they lined up 5 black men, 5 women, 5 LGBT folks, and 10 parents and conducted a march to the gun store.  What would happen?

    • I agree that THEY would get along because of their common interest. I was wondering what the authorities would think like the police or what the rapists would think or what those who are against the LGBT community would think or…

  1. I fully support the right of American citizens who aren’t felons to own firearms for self defense regardless of what their beliefs are. If they use them for legitimate self defense it doesn’t make any difference what their beliefs are. If they misuse them then we have laws to deal with that.

As a person who has a permit in Texas to carry a concealed firearm I am very much aware of what constitutes legal use of firearms in self-defense, and I also know that even if I use a firearm 100% legally it will probably cost me many of thousands of $$$ to defend myself (which is why I have legal insurance for just that purpose).

  2. Hello Just Another Author, I wish everyone who had firearms was as wise and as reasonable as you are. I didn’t even know that there is insurance to carry a firearm! Unfortunately, I don’t think everyone is as willing to allow those folks who need protection because of gender, color, sexual preference or religion. I suspect if, for instance, a parade of black citizens went to the gun shop to buy guns, there would be panic because they were arming themselves. Thank you for your response.

My experience with a large number of NRA members, 2nd Amendment supporters, and other people of a similar persuasion is they are _very_ knowledgable of the history of discrimination principally by Democrats and they are very supportive of law abiding African Americans and Asian Americans buying and bearing arms. I know gun shops who would be very happy to sell to law abiding minorities.

If you read history it has been Democrats who supported disarming minorities. Repressive gun control is almost solely a feature of cities run by Democrats.

Personally an African American or Asian American who wants to bear arms in lawful defense of themselves, their families, and society are my brothers and sisters in arms.
