Eleanor, who specializes in the brain development of children wrote, “In her book The Nurture Assumption Judith Rich Harris mentions that kids are not confused by growing up speaking two or more languages. She also says that they have no accent if they start the languages when they are very young. My grandmother and her sister came from Austria when she was 3 and her sister was 9. My grandmother never had an accent; her sister always had an accent when she spoke English. Steven Pinker also talks about leaning languages in his book The Blank Slate.
