Sales are not my expertise or inclination. However, rubbing elbows with teachers is. So, loaded with posters, a photo album, and a hand-made “Register and Vote” sign scrawled on a piece of cardboard, we set up our 8×10 booth.
For eight hours on Friday and seven hours on Saturday, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Sacramento, we spoke with teachers, superintendents, teacher trainers and principals about the “usefulness” of using my book in their curriculum and of having me speak to their students or teachers. I sold books, but I also made contacts I hope will serve me in the future.
