We watched Chef Mario Batali on Jon Stewart a couple of nights ago. He said something I thought important: “Generally cooks that yell at other cooks or chefs that yell at their cooks are expressing their own self-loathing for not preparing their staff to do the job they knew was coming at them.” This makes me think of parenting or teaching or supervising. Just because something is clear in my mind and I can see a process, doesn’t mean the person I’m working with has a clue. Ask my husband!
